My family loved this recipe. I changed the milk to 2 cups and 1/4 cup of heavy cream to thicken it. It helped a lot. Also I added shrimp and put the soup in sourdough bread bowls. I can't rave enough about how great this recipe is. Thanks for posting!!!

Of all the Clam Chowders I've made, this one tastes the most like Clam Chowder. A lot of the ones on here I've tried don't taste like Clam Chowder but they're still good... just not clam chowdery. Anyway, this one tasted like clam chowder and I really liked it. My only problem with it was it was kind of thin. I like my chowder to be thicker. Will make again but next time I'll add more flour.

This recipe is really good. I chose to make it on the stovetop tho. Really quick and tasty.

The chowder was good but not as flavorful as I would like. I had a bit of a problem with the whole microwave thing.... My bacon melted my bowl. So I ended up making the recipe on the stove and only using the microwave for the potatos. It still was very quick.

Family loved it; could not have been easier. Added extra clams because that is the way they like it.

I made this on the stove. The changes I made were to add some Old Bay seasoning for flavor, and a little more flour to thicken. This wasn't as good as the clam chowder I had in San Francisco last month, but it was still very tasty. I especially liked the bacon in it. Thanks!

My husband gave this a 4 3/4 *, so I rounded up. It was easy and I made it even easier by using a can of potatoes instead of cooking the potatoes. I added a drained can of corn as well when I added the clams. At the very end I put a splash of heavy cream in each bowl for richness (I used 2% milk & the water from the canned potatoes).I will make this again!

Good for a quick fix when you've got the craving, but not the time.

All I can say is WOW! This was so good & my husband couldnt' get enough. The only changes I made was to add onion and garlic powder when I put the clams in. Yummy! Update: If you are pinched for time, add a large can of 98% fat free clam chowder after the potatoes are done cooking. It's great and with the bacon already in it, might as well cut out a little fat elsewhere!

My husband loved this!! I only made half a recipe just in case he didn't like it. I should have made a full recipe, he wanted more. So for lunch the next day I made some more and he liked it even better. Great recipe and so quick and easy. I didn't use the microwave to make most of the soup. I only used it to cook the potatoes with the juices and onion and boiled the rest on the stove. Thanks for a great recipe.

this was very good. I added a splash of sherry at the end because I like that flavor.

Like the other reviewers, I could not see how a chowder made in the microwave could be all that good. Also like the other rreviewers, I love it. I used 2% milk, because that's what we use, and it was still excellent. Maybe not as thick as whole milk would have made it, but very nice. Also, I think next time I will use 1 can of chopped clams, and 1 of minched. Just to see how that works out. Thanks Mary Jane. It was GREAT!!

Very, very yummy!! I was skeptical about it being done soley in the microwave however it was great! I didn't have "real" onions so I substituted minced onions and it still tasted great! I can't wait to make this with real onions next time. I served it in a bread bowl which made it even that much better:)
