This WOWS everytime. Can be altered in so many ways....used dried cranberries, and fresh raspberries, apple cider instead of water. possibilities ENDLESS! soooo delicious! and quick!

I've never made this with apples but made it with peaches many times this summer. The only changes I make now are to only use 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup brown sugar and add 1/2 cup oatmeal. My family and friends love it and it's so easy. I'm sure it's just as good with apples.

Very good, have made a few times now - used canned pie apples to save time and reduced brown sugar to 3/4 cup.

i changed alittle (for time). i used the 2 cans filling, and used about 1/4 cup dark brown sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Quick, and very tasty for the sweet tooth, costing only about $7 to make.... i will make again :)

This was super easy and absolutely delicious. Often, I am too busy to make things from scratch and I love to incorporate convenience foods into my dishes. This dish turned out great! I made this for a summer cook-out party and everyone raved about it! I will definitely be making this one again. This one is a keeper!

I used 2 cans of pie cherry filling in this one, as well as a yellow cake mix. Took other's suggestions to add oats and 2 tsp. lemon juice to the crumble topping. If it's too sweet for you, serve with vanilla ice cream. Thank you for the great recipe!!!!

Great! I give it 5 starts because it's so incredibly easy. I've made this recipe numerous times and I always receive compliments (and it disappears quickly). I've also used blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries in various combinations (reduce water) and everyone loves that too. You can adjust the sugar to taste. I've used white sugar when I didn't have enough brown sugar. We love the topping, so I sometimes use a little extra flour, sugar, cinnamon, and butter to make a thicker topping. You could also add oats/oatmeal to the topping.

Everyone loved this recipe! I took a few others' suggestions and modified the recipe just a bit to give it a more homemade taste. I took one can(21 oz.) apple pie filling and mixed it with 4 peeled and sliced granny smith apples. I added a little vanilla and a little lemon juice to cut some of the sweetness. I only added about 1/2 cup of water. Also, I used a yellow cake mix and I only added 1/2 cup brown sugar. (It was plenty sweet enough.) I also added a little nutmeg and 1/2 cup oats to the topping mixture, and I'm sure nuts would be a good addition, as well.

This was just okay. I'd make it again if I was in a pinch, it's very easy to make. A little too sweet for me though....

Really easy and really delicious. I added dried oats to the cake mix for extra crisp. I added about a cup and it was awesome. Will make again.

What a wonderful recipe this is!! My family love this. It does make alot but it never seems to be enough at my house! The kids are in love with it. One of the easiest Apple Crisp's that I have ever made. One small change that I added was some oats to the white cake mix! Honestly nothing else is needed. Thank you for sharing this awesome dessert :)

I don't mean to offend, but I did not care for this recipe. "An apple dessert with a cake mix on top" is the only thing I can use to describe it. My not-picky, dessert-loving hubby didn't even go for it.
