Strawberry Banana Dessert

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
I make this without the bananas, and combine the strawberries in with the boiling water and then pour it all over top of the angel food cake. Good use of frozen strawberries!

Cheesy Italian Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
Great. My second time making yeast bread. I mixed this in my KitchenAid. Used fresh garlic, 1/2 grated and 1/2 shredded parmesan, and added Italian herb blend. I didn't have any cornmeal, but baked it on parchment and it turned out fine. Thanks!

Southwestern-Flavored Ground Beef or Turkey for Tacos & Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
This is my Go To Taco meat recipe. It's even better if you make it the day before. Tonight I used the jalapeno-spiked canned tomatoes - delicious!

Banana Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
These are really tasty. They are quite flavorful with the bananas, blueberries, and cinnamon. My only complaint is they were a bit on the dry/dense side, but hey, they are healthy muffins, what do you expect? I added more blueberries than called for, maybe 1/2 cup more.

Veggie Lasagna Florentine

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
The best. I use a combo of ricotta and cottage cheeses and add the mozzerella cheese in the last 5 minutes of baking.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
These were amazing! So fluffy and delicious. I added a teaspoon vanilla extract and cut down on the salt like other reviewers said. I also did a 1/2 cup of wheat flour and 1 cup regular and added blueberries, YUM!

Pecan Pumpkin Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
This tasted delicious but it didn't look very nice. The pecan layer aslo made it hard to cut through the pie. Might make again put chop the pecans.

Not good as written. There wasn't eniough flavor and the sauce just ended up stuck to my pan. Won't make again.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
I really wanted to like this as written, but found it way too blah (thank goodness I added the two garlic cloves) Had to add WAY too much salt and pepper to it as I was eating... With that said, I will make it again by adding a little more garlic, roasted red pepper, and some onion and see if that perks up the taste for me. I have a Braun Hand Emulsion blender and was a bit disappointed that it didn't puree the basil, maybe that added to the disappointment, just seems too messy and time consuming to place in blender... I did cut my cream to 1/2 cup, put in 3 tbls butter, but probably ended up taking out 1 tbls when I started to wonder why it was in there...

Creamed Cabbage

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
I'm embarrassed to admit that I ate the entire pan of this for dinner tonight. I used a mixture of cheeses - extra sharp Cheddar, smoked Gouda and Parmesan. This would be good with cabbage and cauliflower. Delicious. Thanks, Michele!

Bacon Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
This brought back so many memories from my childhood! My mother would make a bacon draped chicken on Sundays and my dad and I would fight over who got to eat the bacon. This chicken was moist and flavorful. I didn't use the carrots, but stuffed it with onion, celery, and garlic. Thank you!
